Cream Cheese - Cake Decorations

Getting creative with birthday cake decorations is all part of the fun — especially when baking for little ones with Hereditary Fructose Intolerance (HFI). These cute, colourful decorations are made using just cream cheese and safe food colouring, making them perfect for topping cakes or serving as a fun, sugar-free dessert on their own!

Ingredients

  • HFI-safe cream cheese
  • A few drops of HFI-safe food colouring (always check ingredients)

Instructions

  • Spoon the cream cheese into a small mixing bowl.
  • Add a drop or two of your chosen HFI-safe food colouring. Mix well until evenly combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into silicone moulds (fun shapes like stars, hearts, or even a cactus ice cube tray work great!).
  • Place the moulds in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  • Pop them out and decorate your HFI-safe cake — or enjoy them as a cool, creamy dessert!

Notes

Tips:
  • These keep well in the freezer, so you can make them ahead of time for parties.
  • Let them sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving if you'd like a softer texture.
  • Get creative with colour combinations and shapes for extra fun!
